13 months old...

I can not believe that Micah is already 13 months old! He is growing up so fast. Some things that he now LOVES to do are web cam with Grandma Troedel, watch Hairy and Company, run around the house and get into trouble ( this is his favorite!), wagon rides, and EAT. He has been walking on his own for several weeks now, but just learned how to get up all by himself when he falls down so now he is really on the go. He has taken a couple of falls, but nothing too serious(yet). Here are some links to videos that we took over the past few weeks:

Play Dates

One thing that has been really Fun is watching Micah play with his friends. He has a few Really good friends already. They would be: PJ, Isaiah, Aliana, and Mihret. This week Micah got to have several play dates and is enjoying his time with friends even more now that he is mobile...that's right walking without Mom or Dad helping! Below are some pictures of Micah with his friends. ~Melissa

Closure

Jean Delson -2008
As most of you know, in July of 2008 we had to make a very difficult decision and terminate our Haitian adoption journey, thus giving up our referral for Jean Delson. This was one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make and not a day goes by I do not think about Jean Delson and pray that the family he was meant to be with is found soon. Recently Micah has begun wanting to look through all the scrapbooks I have made. There are ones on Pepe', Scott, our wedding, and also the book we kept of Jean Delson and our trip to Haiti. It is really hard for me to page through these books and see the little one we thought would be our son. To look through those pictures and watch him grow up right in front of my eyes, as we have over 2 years worth of pictures in these books, is so hard. Today we received a letter in the mail from A New Arrival(the agency we were using for our Haitian adoption). It was a letter that we had requested a number of times after making the decision to terminate our adoption, simply stating that we had no further obligation with them...sort of closure. We had asked for this letter so many times and never gotten anything, so we kind of forgot about it. Until today...there was the letter, dated September 15, 2008. There was a note stating that they just found the letter in a pile and thought we had never gotten a copy. It actually brought a tear to my eye, here after all this time I knew that the adoption journey for Jean Delson had ended...but today there was actually closure and that was both sad and also much needed. I continue to pray for Jean Delson and know in my heart that God has a plan for him... ~Melissa

Thank you Luvey!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank my husband for being so wonderful. I don't often appreciate how great of a guy I have. Yesterday Scott came home with a gift bag full of sweet treats. I of course thought it was a gift from someone else that he was bringing home to me...but to my surprise, it was a gift from Luvey himself. The bag had a tag on it that said, " Happy Wife Appreciation Day 2009!". It went on to list a bunch of things he thanked me for : Making Lunches, Making Dinners, Changing Poopy Diapers, Cleaning Toilets...you get the point. Anyhow it was a list of a bunch of things that I just do and don't normally think anyone cares about...I kinda thought they were all taken for granted. Well that card made me burst into tears and I could not see through my clouded eyes to look at my present :-) After I regained my composure, I opened the bag to find some energy jelly bellys and also some YUMMY chocolate covered caramel corn.
So today I wanted to make a post to Thank you Luvey for everything!! I LOVE YOU!
